Cathryn Robson
Sessions at Viva Voce are conducted by Cathryn Robson, CT ABRSM. Cathryn is a trained vocalist and internationally qualified voice coach versed in the latest singing and teaching methods. She established Viva Voce Singing Studio in 2007. She has previously taught in the United Kingdom and Canada.
Cathryn studied voice and composition at Brighton University and Goldsmiths College, London in addition to performance training with English National Opera's 'The Knack'. Her experience as a singer includes popular, jazz and classical repertoire. She has performed and recorded extensively throughout the UK and Europe including appearances on Classic FM, Radio 3, Liberty Radio, London and BBC Radio Napa.
Recent projects include collaborating with British composer Billy Cowie on the installation 'Ghosts in the Machine'. This event, which features a recording of Cathryn singing Schubert's 'Litanei', was premiered at the Brighton Festival, UK, 2009. Cathryn was also voice coach for choreographer Lia Haraki (www.liaharaki.com) on her pieces 'Pretendance', (Cyprus, London, Prague) and 'Party Animals' (Athens, Kypria Festival 2009). She has appeared regularly on the Cypriot circuit as vocalist with jazz/pop ensemble Da Capo.
Between October 2009-July 2010 Cathryn provided vocal coaching to young people at Limassol Theatre Arts School.
From October 2010 Cathryn will be undertaking an MA in Voice Studies/ Coaching at Central School of Speech and Drama, London, UK.
