Autumn 2009
Cathryn Robson will be collaborating with contemporary choreographer Lia Haraki at the annual Dance Reunion workshop which takes place between August 31st and September 4th. This year the workshop is entitled 'Stand Up Performdance' and is run for professional performers. Cathryn will be teaching the voice element of the course.

David Muldoon, winner of a recent singing competition, has been in the studio recording his six track demo. Click here to listen to David.
Sofia O'Hara, was cast in the lead role of 'Annie' with the newly established KBE Musical Theatre Company. The show will premiere in early June. Amy Keen, was cast as 'Nancy' in 'Oliver', produced by the American Academy in Paphos for April performances. A big congratulations to both of these gifted students and to all the other Viva Voce students who braved the auditions!

Talented Viva Voce student David Muldoon has won first prize in a local singing competition, beating four other finalists to the top spot. David, who is 17, was required to sing pop, country and music theatre during the contest which has been running since February. Well done David!
January 2009
Cathryn started a collaboration with Cypriot choreographer Lia Haraki on her dance-theatre piece, 'Pretendance'. Cathryn was brought in to give the dancers vocal coaching and advice. The piece will be premiered in Cyprus at the 9th Contemporary Dance Festival and go on to tour in Athens, London and Prague in June and July 2009.
August 2008
Cathryn Robson, Viva Voce's Singing Coach, performed jazz with the Da Capo Trio as part of the first Mountain Jazz Festival in Lania Village. Other acts for the festival included the Cyprus Big Band and Frontline. The event was organised by Andrew Oliver.
July 2008
Cathryn travelled to London to receive her CT ABRSM (Certificate of Teaching (Voice Specialisation)- Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). The ceremony took place at London's Wigmore Hall. Cathryn undertook the certificate course work between February and June.

Viva Voce Free and Easy 2
The second 'Free and Easy' took place at the studio, with most students participating. Students were accompanied by Paul Woodhall of Emba Music. The evening covered classical, jazz, music theatre and original music!

'The Brightest Star'
Young singer Amy Keen has released a mini-CD comprising four songs in support of breast cancer suffereres and their families. 'The Brightest Star' is the result of Amy's love for singing and her desire to help others who have lost loved ones through the disease. Amy's mother and twin siblings all lost their lives due to breast cancer. The CD contains 3 Christmas songs and a tribute to Amy's mother, Hayley, 'Wind Beneath My Wings'.
Amy and the CD have recently featured in the national press, including Seven Magazine, and also on national radio. Amy commenced private lessons at Viva Voce in October.

Kaela Ripley - Grand Champion of 'The X-Factor'!
Vocalist Kaela Ripley, recently arrived from the UK, has won Paphos' answer to the 'X-Factor. Hosted by the House of Blues, Kaela joined the four-month long competition in October and beat eight other vocalists for the top prize. Kaela wins recording time to the tune of £1000. Largely self-taught and with a performning arts diploma from the UK, Kaela has recently started private classes at Viva Voce. Look out for her over the coming months!
September 2007 - 'Jazz on a Summer's Evening'
Cathryn Robson has been invited to open the 'Jazz on a Summer's Evening' concert to be held on September 21st at Coral Beach Hotel, Paphos. Cathryn will be warming up the audience for main acts Kenny Ball and Acker Bilk. She will be supported by Michele Witthaus on drums and Renad Nourmanchine on keyboards.
